Dandy delivers for on return to Yorkshire for thriving Newmarket trainer James Tate

You can take the man out of Yorkshire, but you can't take Yorkshire out of the man. James Tate trains 185 miles away in Newmarket but revelled in a victory much closer to his childhood home.
Daneh Of Dandy became his third winner from just nine course runners this season when landing the 5f restricted fillies' novice under Harry Davies to earn a step back up in class.
"We like Thirsk," said Tate. "My travelling staff moan that I don't know how far away it is – I always think of it as local still, being a Yorkshireman. But we do well."
Daneh Of Dandy had beaten one home in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot on her previous outing, and her trainer said: "Maybe it was a little bit soon for her and maybe five furlongs is more her bag based on that – she looked quite quick.
"The St Hugh's Stakes at Newbury is a possibility, and failing that we could go even further north for the Harry Rosebery at Ayr."
Tate, who is one winner short of his total for the whole of last season, added: "We can't help ourselves as trainers, we want more and better all the time, but I can't complain. I hope we have some new faces to come out soon and hopefully we can finish the year strong."
Prosperity in profit
Tony Coyle and Kaine Wood struck with their belated first runner of the month when their six-year-old Golden Prosperity took the 6f apprentice classified race under Tom Kiely-Marshall.
It had been more than a week since the joint-trainers had been represented on course due to quick ground, and Coyle said: "Golden Prosperity is limited, but that's four races he's won.
"He's worth more than a racehorse as he leads the two-year-olds at home every spring. I ride him every morning, so he must be a quiet ride!"
