Dance eyes Breeders' Cup glory with Matron heroine Laurens
Star filly Laurens has already conquered France and Ireland this season and now owner John Dance is eyeing an American adventure in November – and keeping his Matron Stakes heroine in training next year.
The four-time Group 1 winner lowered the colossal colours of the subsequently retired Alpha Centauri in the Matron over a mile at Leopardstown on Saturday, earning a 'win and you’re in' berth for the 1m3f Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf – for which she is 10-1 with Sky Bet and Coral – at Churchill Downs on November 3.
The Breeders’ Cup Mile is also under consideration, Dance revealed on Monday, when he also indicated he was inclined to campaign the 1,000 Guineas runner-up next year.
