Dabyah out of French 1,000 Guineas after unsatisfactory scope
Fred Darling winner Dabyah will miss this Saturday's Poule d'Essai des Pouliches at Deauville after an unsatisfactory scope.
The John Gosden-trained filly entered the Classic picture after winning at Newbury last month, with trainer and owner Abdullah Saeed Al Naboodah opting to send their Nell Gwyn Stakes winner Daban to last Sunday's 1,000 Guineas at Newmarket, with the idea of sending Dabyah to France.
Plans for that trip across the Channel have now been shelved, with Gosden keeping his fingers crossed that the daughter of Sepoy can be fit in time for the Group 1 Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot.
"Unfortunately, Dabyah returned an unsatisfactory scope this morning and wasn't left in at the latest stage for the French 1,000 Guineas," said Gosden on Wednesday.
"It was a routine scope that came back a bit cloudy so we thought it best to give France a miss. It's annoying but hopefully we can get her back for the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot next month."
