As the mercury was set to hit 30C by late morning, the Clarehaven team resorted to a summer pull-out time of before 5.30am to combat the heat and, not surprisingly, had first go at the freshly harrowed Al Bahathri Polytrack.

The speedy youngster didn't need all the mile facility to show he was in good nick for the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on Saturday week.
