Coronet sparkles ahead of intended swansong on Champions Day
CoronetJohn Gosden
Gosden paraded eight of his Qipco British Champions Day contenders at second lot on the Al Bahathri Polytrack, where the grey was the pick when breezing seven furlongs. Unlike her stablemate Enable, the two-time Group 1 winner is to retire as a five-year-old after competing in Saturday's Ascot feature, the Group 1 Champion Stakes.
Cape ByronRoger Varian
Varian has a couple of entries at Ascot's Flat finale including this Champions Sprint hopeful, who enjoyed a successful course-and-distance rehearsal in the Group 3 Bengough Stakes at the start of the month. The son of Shamardal looked none the worse for that when stretching past the trees on the Al Bahathri under Andrea Atzeni.

Morrison was most taken with this son of Nathaniel, who is bred for the job being a half-brother to Group 1 winner Pretty Pollyanna and may debut at Newmarket's final meeting in November.
