The progress of Frankel’s first crop has been one of the stories of the Flat season and Juddmonte’s superstar will break new ground at Kyoto in Japan on Saturday when Coofa Diva will be his first runner on dirt.

Yutaka Take will take the ride in a 6f newcomers’ race, in which Coofa Diva will line up against 15 rivals

Japanese fans are familiar with the great horse's offspring. Mi Suerte collected the sire’s first Pattern winner in the Grade 3 Kyoto Sho Fantasy Stakes. Another filly to have made an instant impact is Katsuyumi Yoshida’s Soul Stirring, unbeaten in two starts and the product of a union between Frankel and Prix de Diane winner Stacelita.

Coofa Diva is certainly bred to thrive on dirt. Her half-sister by Malibu Moon, Eden’s Moon, was a Grade 1 winner at Santa Anita for Bob Baffert and went on to be beaten just a nose in the Hollywood Oaks.
