Connections ponder Breeders' Cup options for versatile Mind Your Biscuits

Breeders' Cup Classic, Dirt Mile and the Twinspires Sprint remain options

Mind Your Biscuits will entered in two Breeders' Cup races
1 of 1

Multiple Grade 1 winner Mind Your Biscuits turned in a solid leg-stretcher at Churchill Downs, covering five furlongs in 1min 0.20sec in his first work since victory in the Grade 3 Lukas Classic Stakes.

With victories over a variety of distances this year under his belt, multiple Breeders’ Cup targets are still under consideration for Mind Your Biscuits. The 1m2f Breeders' Cup Classic, the Dirt Mile and the Sprint all remain options.

Mind Your Biscuits defeated Toast of New York in the Lukas Stakes

Trainer and co-owner Chad Summers and his partners are still watching to see how things play out with various contenders in each of those divisions, adding that the horse will definitely be cross-entered in pre-entries.

"We will be in at least two of them - you're only allowed to pre-enter in two, if we were allowed to be in more, we'd probably be in five or six," Summers joked.

After her victory in the Arc, will Enable go to the Breeders' Cup Turf

"With Enable seemingly going to the turf, you'd have to think Roaring Lion is going to the Classic if he were to come. We're waiting on Promises Fulfilled to see if he goes to the Sprint or Dirt Mile and also what goes on with XY Jet.

“There are still a lot of moving parts but we think we're in a good spot now. We'll see how things shake out."

Mind Your Biscuits captured the 1m1f Lukas Classic by five lengths to secure his first win beyond seven furlongs. As important as the victory was, the fact the New York-bred runner has appeared to thrive over the host surface for this year's Breeders' Cup is a big plus for Summers.

"We know he likes Churchill, he continues to confirm that," Summers said. "We're excited about the Breeders' Cup."
