Concern is widespread as Godolphin review leaves many waiting and hoping

On the track Godolphin have been riding high. Away from the public glare the story is seemingly less positive. That is not a new thing. This time, however, the consequences are spreading far and wide.

News broke on Sunday about the global business review that has led to at least two senior employees losing their jobs and some flagship sponsorships being axed or placed in serious doubt.

In the summer of 2017 Godolphin hit the headlines when internal conflict triggered the departure of chief executive John Ferguson. Subsequent racecourse triumphs and the successes of Sheikh Mohammed's racing team, equine and human, perhaps masked continued difficulties behind the scenes. They are not entirely behind the scenes any longer.
