Cold snap not expected to threaten Saturday's feature meetings
No weather-related problems are anticipated at Aintree or Sandown, which are set to stage Saturday's biggest meetings, despite the cold weather which has claimed cards at Wincanton and Exeter in recent days.
"We're fine," said Aintree clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch on Friday evening. "We've had a mild day and there could be a bit of drizzle overnight."
There is a similarly positive outlook at Sandown. Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper said: "There's no inspection planned unless the forecast proves very wrong - we are not anticipating a sharp frost."
Huntingdon are due to stage their biggest raceday on Sunday, with the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase the highlight. The temperature is set to drop below freezing on Saturday night but officials are confident of getting the go-ahead.
"We're in a good place and there are no concerns currently," said clerk of the course Jack Pryor. "We're comfortable with how things are and it's not looking too drastic at the moment.
"We're due to get down to -2C on Saturday night but are forecast 8C on Sunday."
