Bob Olinger, the brilliant Ballymore winner who is generally 8-1 second favourite for the 2022 Champion Hurdle, looks set to be sent straight over fences by trainer Henry de Bromhead.

The Ballymore Novices' Hurdle was billed as one of the races of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival beforehand as Bob Olinger, Gaillard Du Mesnil and Bravemansgame took each other on but it turned into a rout as the six-year-old burst clear up the home straight under Rachael Blackmore to win by seven and a half lengths.

The turn of foot he showed might have tempted some trainers to have a crack at the Champion Hurdle, won last season by his stablemate Honeysuckle, but De Bromhead thinks chasing will be his game.
