Not every cold caller is a nuisance - the one who arrived at Beckhampton late last year turned out to be a future Olympic champion.

The horseman riding by was Astier Nicolas, a Frenchman looking to boost his hopes for Rio by riding out for Derby-winning trainer Roger Charlton.

And it clearly paid off as nine months later he was standing on the podium with a gold medal round his neck as part of his country's triumphant eventing team.
