Wasn’t Buveur D’Air spectacular at Newcastle? The Dikler certainly thought so, although perhaps those involved with Samcro and Summerville Boy less so.

Running for the first time this season, and for the first time since a slightly unconvincing time of things during 2017-18, Buveur D’Air dismissed any concerns and galloped away from his rivals – both literally and figuratively – particularly impressing with his jumping.

Yet, little did we know how big a role the Racing Post’s Lambourn correspondent had apparently played in the success, something champion trainer Nicky Henderson revealed on ITV Racing after Buveur D’Air had blown him away with his performance.
