Former Jockey Club chief executive Simon Bazalgette has told British racing's leadership not to "waste a good crisis" as they prepare for crunch talks about an industry strategy next week.

Chief executives representing participant groups and racecourses, along with the respective chairs of the BHA, Thoroughbred Group and Racecourse Association, are set to take part in the talks.

They will take place against a background of mounting problems facing racing but Bazalgette, who is chairman of the UK board of micro-share ownership operator MyRacehorse, said the situation presented an opportunity for the sport.
