Try our Grand National horse generator to make your football-based selection
The Racing Post is offering a different approach to picking this year’s Grand National winner by giving punters a chance to make a selection based on their favourite football team.
The race can feel a bit like a lottery. You’ve studied the form, looked at trainer-jockey partnerships and checked the going, but you’re still no closer to picking the winner.
When it comes to making a selection, liking the colours or finding some deep meaning in a name have been tried and tested methods since the race began, but this year we’re trying a different tactic.
Your Club, Your Horse is a Grand National horse generator. The Racing Post team have worked tirelessly to find a connection between one of the runners and all 104 clubs in the four English leagues and Scottish Premiership. All you need to do is enter the club you support and find out which horse you should be backing.
For example, Tottenham Hotspur should look no further than Lake View Lad as, like the football club, he has an abundance of ability, but questions surrounding his stamina undermine his top-four credentials.
Leicester fans on the other hand should side with One For Arthur, who won the main title but didn't turn up to defend it the following season.
