The current crop of apprentices contain two or three young jockeys who have the potential to make a real name for themselves this summer.

Bookmakers quote Rossa Ryan as short as 6-4 for the title, but the youngster who has consistently caught my eye since he rode his first winner, Many Dreams, at Salisbury last May – ironically beating the Ryan-ridden Lucky Louie in a photo-finish – is Jason Watson, who is 7-1 with William Hill.
