Nominations open for 2026 Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards

Nominations have opened for the 2026 Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards, which return to Ascot on February 23 with £128,500 in prize-money on offer across six categories.

Godolphin continue their long-standing support of the event, having sponsored it for more than 20 years. Run by the BHA and supported by the Racing Post and Racing TV, the awards are designed to reward and recognise those working in racing yards, stud farms and the wider industry.

Last year’s employee of the year was Simone Meloni, who landed the rider/racing groom award before claiming the top prize of £30,000 for himself and his colleagues at Nicky Henderson’s Seven Barrows yard.

BHA acting chief executive Brant Dunshea said: “The Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards are the ultimate celebration of our people, rewarding the extraordinary skill, dedication and passion across British racing and breeding.

"Thanks to Godolphin’s generous sponsorship, winners not only receive the plaudits of their peers but secure significant cash prizes for themselves and their yard, stud or charity of choice.

"We’re also delighted this year that Ascot will be joining the Racing Post and Racing TV as a formal awards partner – further cementing the close ties between Ascot and the TIEA and ensuring everyone has an evening to savour at the ceremony itself."

Eighteen nominees will make it to the final round of judging, with winners announced at an evening ceremony. Nominations close at 5pm on Tuesday, November 4 and can be made by employers, colleagues or friends at thoroughbredawards.co.uk. They will be reviewed by an expert judging panel chaired by award-winning broadcaster Nick Luck.
