George Baker believes there is no reason why Epsom should not thrive as a major training centre after landing a significant blow for the famous racing town when winning the Wokingham Stakes at Royal Ascot. 

The trainer relocated to the historic Downs House, former home of Eclipse, in January and a matter of months later won for the second time at the royal meeting when Get It scored by a head at 28-1.

Epsom, home of the Derby, was one of Britain's biggest training centres between the 1940s and 1970s, and produced several Classic winners, but in recent times has not been as popular with owners as Lambourn and Newmarket.
