Lazy Griff team confident extra distance of St Leger will help as they ready for round four with Derby conqueror Lambourn

Lazy Griff has butted heads with dual Derby winner Lambourn three times this season without victory, but his syndicate owners believe the added distance of the Betfred St Leger could finally swing the fight in their favour next month.
Just a length and a half separated the pair in the Chester Vase before Lazy Griff finished three and three-quarter lengths behind Lambourn when second in the Derby. He again chased him home when third, beaten a total of three lengths, in the Irish Derby last time.
However, Lazy Griff's entire campaign has revolved around getting him to Britain's final Classic of the year and Middleham Park's flagbearer is the 8-1 joint third-favourite with the race sponsors after the field was whittled down to 26 on Tuesday.
