Every owner's dream could become reality for Mick Mariscotti as he takes on Coolmore and Godolphin with a potential champion two-year-old in Saturday's Darley Dewhurst Stakes.

The unbeaten Zavateri was bought for just 35,000gns as a yearling yet is a best-priced 100-30 second favourite for the Newmarket Group 1, where he will face big-money buys Distant Storm (€1.9 million) and Gstaad (450,000gns) — whom he has already beaten.

The Eve Johnson Houghton-trained colt has progressed from his debut victory in a Salisbury novice to take the July Stakes at Newmarket, Vintage Stakes at Goodwood and the Group 1 National Stakes at the Curragh.
