Ian Williams is hoping Saturday's narrow Bunbury Cup runner-up Aalto can gain compensation for his near miss at Newmarket in the International Handicap at Ascot on July 26. 

Sent off a 40-1 outsider on Saturday, Aalto bounced back to form in emphatic fashion when going down in a photo-finish to the hot favourite More Thunder as he attempted to win the Bunbury Cup for a second time.

Aalto followed up last year's win at Newmarket by finishing ninth in the International, and Williams is keen to return to Ascot. He is as short as 9-1 with Paddy Power and Sky Bet for the 7f heritage handicap.
