The lots for the auction at this year's Sir Peter O'Sullevan Award Lunch have been revealed, including a trip to see some of the biggest Flat stars at Coolmore Stud and Ballydoyle.

The trip for four people will include a morning with trainer Aidan O'Brien and a visit to see high-class stallions at Coolmore, as well as overnight accommodation. It is one of nine lots that will be offered at the lunch.

Also being auctioned will be a VIP trip to the 2026 Derby from the sponsors Betfred and Fred Done, as well as a portrait of Willie Mullins, who will be the recipient of this year's Sir Peter O'Sullevan Award.

The lunch will be held at the Dorchester Hotel in London on November 27.


Funeral of apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes to take place in Newmarket on November 21

The funeral of apprentice jockey Tommie Jakes, who died aged 19 last month, will take place at St Mary's Church in Newmarket on Friday, November 21.

The service in memory of Jakes, who was found dead at his family home near Newmarket a few hours after riding at Nottingham, will begin at 11am.

All will be welcome to attend and also the celebration of life that will take place afterwards in the Frankel Bar at the Rowley Mile. A private cremation service will be held in West Suffolk and it is asked that flowers are from family only.

Jakes's family have requested donations go to the Injured Jockeys Fund through Southgate, the funeral directors, or the GoFundMe page set up by owner Paul Corrigan.

Jakes rode 59 winners from 519 rides in his three-year career and partnered his last winner for boss George Boughey, Fouroneohfever, at Catterick on October 18.
