Doreen Tabor buys into 80-1 debut winner Into The Sky before Mill Reef Saturday mission after 'substantial offers' are rejected

Newbury debut winner Into The Sky attracted "substantial offers" after his 80-1 success but the exciting two-year-old will remain with Jim Boyle and has been supplemented for Saturday's Dubai Duty Free Mill Reef Stakes after Doreen Tabor, the wife of Coolmore partner Michael Tabor, became a joint-owner.

The Starman two-year-old caused a major shock when scoring by seven and a half lengths last month and was added to the field for the Group 2 for a fee of £6,250.

Owners Pamela Wilson and Roland Stanbridge had no interest in losing Into The Sky, who put up one of the most impressive debut performances from a two-year-old this season.

Epsom-based Boyle, who has yet to train a Group winner, said: "The Tabors have bought into the horse and we're extremely grateful and pleased the horse will stay and progress in the yard. After Newbury he attracted a lot of interest so it's great that he's still with us.

"The moment he crossed the line his owners said that they didn't want to sell him. We had some substantial offers but the partnership we've got is ideal. The majority of the time these types of horses are sold, but this is a great scenario for everyone. 

"This was the obvious target after the Newbury win, although I'd have liked to have entered beforehand. We weren't thinking Mill Reef before his debut but after he did what he did we were happy to supplement him. It's a big step up in class but it's worth throwing him into this level."

Into The Sky was installed at 5-2 with Coral, with Wise Approach, who was last seen finishing a half-length third in the Prix Morny, their market leader at 7-4.

Conditions are a concern for Boyle, with the ground described as soft and rain forecast in the week. The trainer said: "Ideally we won't be racing on bottomless ground. I'd like it to be a slightly drier week than forecast to take out the one potential question mark. He's got a beautiful stride so it's good to make the most of it.

"He won well at Newbury and the figures don't lie in terms of time and everything else. It was no fluke but he's got to go and back it up second time out in a better race."

Wise Approach could be joined by his Charlie Appleby-trained stablemate Words Of Truth, while the Kevin Ryan-trained Rock On Thunder could bid to go one better after his Gimcrack second.
