Last year’s Derby runner-up Ambiente Friendly has left James Fanshawe and been transferred to his fellow Newmarket trainer James Owen.

It is not the first time the son of Gleneagles has been the centre of attention having been involved in a jockey switch controversy just days before his Epsom second to City Of Troy when Callum Shepherd was replaced by Robert Havlin in the Classic.

The latest move comes as little surprise in Newmarket where there has been much speculation as to where Ambiente Friendly would be trained this year after he spent most of the winter at the Stetchworth Park Stud of the Gredley Family who own the horse.
