A collection of stamps celebrating the legacy of three-time Grand National-winning owner Trevor Hemmings will be released in the build-up to this year's race.

Hemmings, who died in October 2021 at the age of 86, had his name etched in sporting history by winning the Grand National with Hedgehunter (2005), Ballabriggs (2011) and Many Clouds (2015).

Those heroes in the famous emerald green, yellow and white silks, who made Hemmings the joint-most successful owner in the National, feature alongside his other star chasers Albertas Run, Cloth Cap and Vintage Clouds in the set of six stamps issued by the Isle of Man post office.

Hemmings was a Manx resident and lived at his Ballaseyr Stud, surrounded by his past champions who spent their days in retirement.

The collection features imagery by Grossick Photography and supporting text from Kathryn Revitt, a trustee of the Hemmings Family Trust.

It is to be released on April 7, four days before the 2026 Randox Grand National, in support of the Injured Jockeys Fund.

IJF president Sir AP McCoy said: "I was so lucky to get to know Trevor, spend time with him and ride a lot of his horses throughout most of my career, most notably Albertas Run, on whom I won ten races, including three times at the Cheltenham Festival.

"Trevor was like all of us. He loved winning, and by God he won a lot, which he thoroughly deserved. He was a great supporter of horseracing, but he was also a very kind and generous man.

"I know personally what a huge contributor he had been for many years to our charity, especially when we were building one of our rehabilitation centres, Jack Berry House, which wouldn’t exist without his generosity."

Hemmings gained his first National victory with Hedgehunter, trained by Willie Mullins, before the Donald McCain-trained Ballabriggs won the race six years later.

In 2015 it was the turn of Many Clouds, trained by Oliver Sherwood and the owner's highest-rated horse on Racing Post Ratings.

Mullins said: "Trevor had a deep and genuine love for racing, and he always believed in his horses. Hedgehunter’s Grand National victory meant a great deal to him, and seeing that belief rewarded on such a famous day was something very special.

"Trevor was proud of the sport and of those involved in it, and it was a privilege to have shared that moment with him. It is a memory that has stayed with us all."

Maxine Cannon, Isle of Man stamps and coins general manager, said: "On behalf of Isle of Man post office, it is an honour to celebrate the life of Trevor Hemmings CVO with this landmark stamp issue.

"Trevor’s achievements in horseracing were extraordinary, driven by a love for the sport and enormous respect for everyone involved. This issue reflects those values and proudly supports the Injured Jockeys Fund, a cause close to racing’s heart."
