Calls grow for urgent reform to 'rudderless' British racing - but most racecourses duck the big questions

Britain’s racecourses have responded with near silence to questions about the sport's current plight – in stark contrast to the calls for urgent change from participant groups.
This comes as power in British racing faces unprecedented scrutiny following Charles Allen's decision to indefinitely delay starting as BHA chair. Lord Allen, who was due to begin last Monday, is understood to have concerns over how decisions are made in the sport.
With racing’s leadership in the spotlight, the Racing Post asked those running the sport to provide answers to six pressing questions, which were sent to 28 organisations representing every racecourse, trainers, owners, breeders, jockeys and stable staff, as well as the BHA.
