Ascot, Arc and the Jockey Club in the firing line as PRA report on prize-money calls for government intervention

Ascot and the courses controlled by Arena Racing and the Jockey Club are among those accused of failing to contribute enough of their revenues to prize-money in a no-holds-barred report compiled by the Professional Racing Association (PRA).
The PRA, set up by former BHB chair Peter Savill and made up of "committed racing professionals" representing more than half of Britain's racehorse population, has called on the government to intervene and insist that the BHA act as arbiter of a fair distribution of racing’s revenue.
Alternatively, it has suggested that the government should scrap the BHA’s ownership structure shared between racecourses and horsemen and become involved itself.
