The brilliant 2018 heroine Sistercharlie will be many people's idea of a banker as she looks to extend her unbeaten sequence to seven and become the first successive winner of the race under Johnny Velazquez.

Each of her six wins since July of last year have come in Grade 1s, and if you discount her Grade 2 defeat at Belmont previously, her winning streak in Grade 1s extends to seven as she had also won one at Keeneland on her first start for Chad Brown.

Although Magical's absence takes from what would have made for a cracking clash of the continents, Sistercharlie's most potent rivals still look to come from Europe in Iridessa, Villa Marina and Billesdon Brook.

“She’s as good as any we’ve brought for the race,” said Brown, who has won this four times. “She’s in great form and I love how she’s working."

What the connections say

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Iridessa
She's in good shape. She has a nice draw and likes the firm ground, so I'd be hoping for a good run. Obviously, the tight track is a bit of a question mark.

John Gosden, trainer of Fanny Logan
We dropped back to a mile-and-a-quarter and popped a hood on her and it's made a massive difference. It's a jump in class and we aren't very happy with the draw in 12. It'll be difficult because they run straight into a bend at the start, but she is in good form.

Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Just Wonderful
Just Wonderful is in good form. Fast ground and the track will suit her well. The mile-and-a-quarter, we’re not sure, so we might have to go forward with her.

Sean Levey, rider of Billesdon Brook
She tried this trip as a three-year-old and didn't quite stay but she is a different filly now. She likes it fast and has matured and learned how to race properly, so I think she has every chance.
