Blue Point handed Goodwood mission after Doncaster romp
Godolphin's unbeaten juvenile Blue Point, who burst into the Qipco 2,000 Guineas picture with a scintillating 11-length romp at Doncaster last Thursday, is to test his credentials at the next level in the Group 2 Qatar Richmond Stakes at Goodwood a week on Thursday.
The son of Shamardal was continuing the resurgence of Sheikh Mohammed's organisation with their juveniles when backing up his debut win at Nottingham in style under in-form James McDonanld.
Following the triumph in a 6f novice event, Blue Point was introduced by William Hill as 12-1 joint-second favourite for the Guineas, the market headed by Caravaggio at 4-1. He can be backed at a best-priced 20-1.
