'Supasundae should be a strong favourite for the Stayers' Hurdle'

Min won with total authority and I'm a little surprised he's not challenging Altior for Champion Chase favouritism, especially as we are yet to see the market leader this season.

Min's time was over a second quicker than that of stablemate Footpad, who won over the same course and distance, and that looked the best performance we've seen in the two-mile division this term.

Supasundae was fantastic in the Irish Champion Hurdle, but the only entry he has at Cheltenham is the Stayers' Hurdle. He should be favourite for that now, but is yet to win over three miles and, when you see him performing like that over a mile shorter, you wonder whether the Stayers' is the right race to aim at.

You could pick holes in the claims of those Terrefort and Cyrname drew away from in the Scilly Isles, but not their ability, so it can be taken as a good indicator that the pair finished a long way clear.

The Cheltenham races in the 2m4f novice chase programme are often more indicative than the Scilly Isles, but that does not seem so certain this year and I would not be surprised if Saturday's was the best race of its type this season.

Connections of the winner seemed reluctant to commit to the JLT afterwards, but with some of the 14-1 available coming with the NRNB concession attached there is no reason to sit on the edge of the pool.

Supasundae by an absolute mile. The bookmakers seem to think that Footpad was the horse to take out of the day, and there is no doubt that he's a brilliant jumper, but Petit Mouchoir will improve massively for his run and can give him a race, while Sceau Royal is waiting in the wings too.

Min's race totally fell apart and, while he could do nothing but win as he did, I think Politologue or Fox Norton would have won like that too.

Supasundae put up his best performance ever over two miles, looks a much better horse this year than ever before and is a festival winner too. He should be a strong favourite for the Stayers' Hurdle.
