Kemboy could return to the track in the Savills Chase at Leopardstown this month, but a shareholder in the ­Cheltenham Gold Cup hope believes the current approach to prevent the overselling of shares in syndicates is “hopelessly inadequate”.

Kemboy produced superb performances to win at the Aintree and Punchestown festivals in the spring, but has been kept off the track this campaign as one of the horses caught up in the troubles of the Supreme Horse Racing Club.

The club was barred last month by Horse Racing Ireland (HRI) after failing to engage with the governing body over allegations of overselling horses.
