Betfair Hurdle winner Pic D'Orhy starts out over fences at Market Rasen

Pic D'Orhy: winner of the Grade 2 Betfair Hurdle in February
1 of 1

Pic D'Orhy will face just three rivals on his first start over fences in the 2m1f novice chase (3.56) at Market Rasen on Saturday.

The five-year-old was last seen beating Ciel De Neige in the Grade 1 Betfair Hurdle in February on his fourth start for Paul Nicholls.

After moving from French trainer Francois Nicolle, Pic D'Orhy ran in the Triumph Hurdle in 2019 but was absent from this year's festival.

"I'm looking forward to running him," said the 11-time champion trainer. "Dynamite Dollars won this race in 2018 and hopefully he can do the same. He's a real staying, chasing type of horse."

Among his rivals is Notre Pari, who won a novice hurdle on his most recent start.

"We missed the Silver Trophy at Chepstow last Saturday due to drying ground," said trainer Olly Murphy. "His jumping has been good at home and he has experience from a point-to-point run."

In France a number of British runners line up for the Grande Course de Haies d'Auteuil (4.00), a Grade 1 hurdle won last year by Benie Des Dieux and Willie Mullins.

They include The Worlds End, who won the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot for trainer Tom George before being pulled up in the Grade 2 Rendlesham Hurdle at Haydock on his most recent start.

The British challenge also includes two-time Grade 2 novice hurdle winner Ramses De Teillee, the Nick Williams-trained Agrapart and Clondaw Cian, last seen finishing third at Auteuil for Sophie Leech.
