You might think Liverpool and Manchester United fans would try to avoid each other at the moment, but luckily for Steve Wignall and his business partner John Flannery they can kick the football chat to the sidelines for the next few weeks in the knowledge they will be cheering for exactly the same thing in the Unibet Champion Hurdle on March 10.

The pair, who run a utility services business, own Ballyandy, who can be backed at 25-1 with William Hill for hurdling's most prestigious prize.

Nigel Twiston-Davies's inmate, who has been seemingly rejuvenated this term after being dropped back to two miles, will carry their football-inspired red-and-white silks for the fourth time at the Cheltenham Festival.
