Ayr abandons due to waterlogged track

Today's meeting at Ayr has been abandoned due to a waterlogged track.

A 7am inspection had been arranged because of the threat of rain and with 8mm in 24 hours and another 2mm expected, a decision was made to call off the card after areas of the course had become saturated.

The track tweeted: "Today's racing has been abandoned @ayrracecourse due to waterlogging. Past 24hrs 8mm of rain and raining at present. More rain due this morning."
