Authorised betting partner bet365 agree Craven meeting deal
Online gambling operator bet365, recently replaced by Ladbrokes as sponsors at what is known as Newbury's Hennessy weekend, has signed a deal with Newmarket to back the Craven meeting.
The firm, which sponsored the Craven Stakes in 2004 and 2005 and other races at the meeting, have agreed a three-year partnership with Newmarket for the fixture that will be run this year on April on 18, 19 and 20, with the last two days live on ITV4.
The bet365 Earl of Sefton Stakes, the Nell Gwyn Stakes and the Abernant Stakes are other Group races run at the meeting.
Steve Ibberson, managing director of bet365, said: "We are thrilled to be supporting the Craven meeting for the next three years, strengthening our already close relationship with Newmarket.
"This meeting also combines nicely with our jumps finale meeting at Sandown the following weekend."
Newmarket is owned by Jockey Club Racecourses, a driving force in British racing's authorised betting partner policy, with which bet365 are aligned.
Amy Starkey, JCR'S regional director for Newmarket, added: "The bet365 Craven meeting is not only our first fixture of the season, it also signals the start of the real build-up to our Qipco Guineas festival with a number of significant Classic trials taking place, including the Craven Stakes and the Nell Gwyn Stakes."
