Arc and SIS granted leave to appeal against high court judgement

Both sides have been granted leave to appeal against a high court judgement which followed a trial earlier this year involving Arena Racing Company (Arc) and SIS.

Mr Justice Antony Zacaroli also ordered that SIS pays 20 per cent of the legal costs incurred by Arc's media rights company The Racing Partnership during the trial at Tuesday's hearing, as well as its own. It is believed costs for each side had amounted to around £3 million each.

SIS is appealing against Justice Zacaroli's original decision in May that they had unlawfully breached confidentiality in Arc's raceday data.
