Angel Bleu improving but has 'plenty to find' with top two-year-olds

A Racing Post Rating of 112 is not enough for Angel Bleu to threaten the very top two-year-olds and is relatively low for a Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere winner, at least when it is run over seven furlongs.

For five years between 2015 and 2019 this race was run over a mile but underwhelming results saw a return to the current trip last year.

Ralph Beckett’s colt had not run since success in a substandard renewal of Goodwood’s Vintage Stakes, the form of which has already been let down a number of times. That came just three days after hanging his chance away in Ascot’s Pat Eddery Stakes and even at Goodwood he managed to wipe out most of his rivals.
