Amateur Spencer escapes with bruising after loose horse sends her flying

Amateur rider Megan Spencer avoided any significant injuries when she was brought down in the pulling-up area at Windsor on Monday evening in an incident that led to a course inspection.

Spencer was knocked out of the saddle when her mount Madness Light, who had trailed the field throughout after a slow start, was cannoned into by Eugenic, who was galloping loose after slipping up.

She stayed on the ground for some time and was taken by ambulance to nearby Wexham Park Hospital, but her partner Daniel Steele, who trains the seven-year-old, had good news yesterday.
