'Allowance loss must be reviewed' - Clive Cox makes jockeys' weight plea to BHA

The BHA should review its controversial decision to ditch the Covid weight allowance for jockeys, Group 1-winning trainer Clive Cox has stressed.

British racing's regulatory body revealed last month that minimum weights for most races would increase by 2lb, but a 3lb allowance brought in to account for the closure of saunas during the pandemic will vanish from March 26.

The closure of saunas has since been made permanent and riders, including Cox's main jockey Adam Kirby, have been left infuriated with the situation.
