Ffos Las fell victim to waterlogging but the only other jumps fixture - at Ayr - passed an 8.30am inspection.

There is also action on the all-weather with Newcastle staging a twilight all-weather Flat meeting. The highlight of the card is an all-weather championship fast-track qualifier in which Gracious John bids to complete a hat-trick of wins.

Adam Wedge learned a very hard lesson when taking the wrong course at Exeter. The shame he must endure for the error is a punishment in itself but 21 days suspension is a huge hit to the pocket.
