A Toi Phil: bids to repeat his victory in last year's PWC Champion Chase

The jumps season steps up another gear in Ireland as Gowran Park hosts Grade 2 action with the PWC Champion Chase.

Gordon Elliott is doubly represented with A Toi Phil and Jury Duty, and the trainer said of his pair: "A Toi Phil is in good form and we're hoping he might repeat last year's win, but it looks very competitive for his first run of the season.

"Jury Duty is well, but he's a difficult horse to place and has a bit to find on ratings."

Jessica Harrington is herself three-handed in the race, and said of her trio: "Woodland Opera won over hurdles on his last two starts and has become a summer horse. He won't have his ground for much longer, but he's in good form and we're hopeful.

"Don't Touch It got up late to win at Listowel last time. He's always had plenty of class but needs to land on the line. Rock The World, like the other two, will like the ground."

Willie Mullins is represented by Ballycasey, whose three course-and-distance wins include this race two years ago. He also finished third in the contest 12 months ago.

He seems to be in good form for his first run of the season and we're hoping for nice ground. It's a race that has been lucky for us in the past
