'All her form is on soft or heavy' - the day's most revealing Cheltenham quotes

The third day of the Cheltenham Festival kicks off with the highly anticipated clash between star novice chasers Bob Olinger and Galopin Des Champs in the Turners Novices' Chase (1.30). Allaho then bids for back-to-back Ryanair Chases (2.50) before the feature race of the day, the Paddy Power Stayers' Hurdle (3.30), where main protagonists Flooring Porter, Champ, Klassical Dream, Thyme Hill and Paisley Park all have leading claims.

Read on for the day's most revealing quotes from all seven of today's Cheltenham races.

Day three racecards | Big-race tips | Watch In The Know

Turners Novices' Chase (Grade 1) | 2m4f | 5yo+ | ITV/RTV

Henry de Bromhead, trainer of Bob Olinger:

"The rain that's arrived will definitely suit him. I was glad to see it coming for him. Everything has gone well with him in the lead up to the race and his work has been great."

Overnight price: Evens

Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle (Grade 3) | 3m | 5yo+ | ITV/RTV

Peter Fahey, trainer of Born Patriot:

"I think he has a great chance. Everything has gone smoothly with him and he's in great form. He had a good run in a qualifier here earlier in the season, which is a huge plus coming back here as we know he handles the track well, and he’ll be coming home stronger than most. He stays."

Overnight price: 18-1

Ryanair Chase (Grade 1) | 2m4½f | 5yo+ | ITV/RTV

Gordon Elliott, trainer of Conflated:

"Everybody is up against it with Allaho, but Conflated produced a proper Grade 1 performance last time and he was very good over this trip at Navan in December, albeit at a much lower level. He definitely has a chance."

Overnight price: 13-2

3.30 CheltenhamPaddy Power Stayers' Hurdle (Grade 1) | 3m | 4yo+ | ITV/RTV

Peter Fahey, trainer of Royal Kahala:

"As long as the ground is safe, she'll definitely run – and I don't think she's as ground-dependent over this trip. Everything has been geared towards Cheltenham this year and she's absolutely flying. We couldn't be happier with her and I wouldn't swap her for anything."

Overnight odds: 6-1

Cheltenham Festival tips: one key runner from each ITV race on Thursday

Plate Handicap Chase | 2m4½f | 5yo+ | ITV/RTV

Tom Lacey, trainer of Adrimel:

"I'm pleased to see the rain and this track will suit him better than his previous visits to Cheltenham. He's a hard horse to gauge because he doesn't do a lot at home, but I think he'll run a big race. I still think he's relatively well handicapped. A big field will help him because having horses around him will encourage him along a bit."

Overnight odds: 16-1

4.50 CheltenhamRyanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2) | 2m1f | 4yo+ | RTV

Harry Fry, trainer of Love Envoi:

"I'm just hoping we get the rain, then we'd be very excited. All her form has been in soft or heavy ground and she's had a flawless campaign. This is obviously a deeper race but she'd be worthy of a chance if conditions are in her favour."

Overnight price: 12-1

5.30 CheltenhamFulke Walwyn Kim Muir Challenge Cup Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase | 3m2f | 5yo+, 0-145 | RTV

Alex Hales, trainer of Omar Maretti:

"I'm really looking forward to running him. He's a massive improver and I think he has room for more, he's done nothing but go the right way this season and he won very easily last time."

Overnight price: 12-1
