Alice Springs set to skip Goodwood in favour of Deauville

Alice Springs, who recorded her first Group 1 victory when landing a gamble in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket's July meeting, will be heading to France for her next assignment.

Her trainer Aidan O'Brien said on Sunday: "She's entered at Goodwood during the week but the Group 1 Prix Rothschild at Deauville on Sunday is the target for Alice Springs, assuming we're happy with her during the week."

Prior to her two-and-a-quarter-length win at Newmarket, Alice Springs had finished third in both the 1,000 Guineas and Coronation Stakes.
