Ahoy Senor usurped Bravemansgame as favourite for the bet365 Charlie Hall Chase (3.35) on Saturday morning with his price now no bigger than 5-4.

The two Grade 1-winning second-season chasers are set for a mouthwatering clash at Wetherby where they will renew rivalry in the first big Saturday jumps race of the season.

Bravemansgame had been favourite for the Charlie Hall during the week but has been pushed out to 2-1 (from 6-4) following sustained support for Ahoy Senor, who is as low as 5-4 with the sponsor having been a 15-8 shot on Friday.

Ahoy Senor, trained by Lucinda Russell, bids to extend his head-to-head record with Bravemansgame to 3-1, having most recently won the Mildmay Novices' Chase at Aintree in April when his rival had a rare off day.

Russell was glad to see rain falling at Wetherby on Saturday morning and told the Racing Post: "I just hope it's safe ground, I'm sure it will be, and then he jumps and we'll worry about the rest after that."

Coral's PR director Simon Clare said: "We made Bravemansgame favourite in the week and it's only in the last 24 hours that the market has flipped. It's not that Bravemansgame has been weak, it has been the strength behind Ahoy Senor. There is real market confidence as he is into 11-10 from 2-1 with Bravemansgame eased to 15-8 (from 13-8)."

Eldorado Allen is next in the market at 9-2 in a field which was reduced to five following the withdrawals of Secret Investor and Win My Wings on Friday.
