A'Ali set for Breeders' Cup after Flying Childers victory
The Breeders' Cup is set to be the main target for A'Ali after he bounced back to form following a defeat at Deauville to land the Group 2 Wainwright Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster.
The Simon Crisford-trained two-year-old breezed to the front under Frankie Dettori to finish clear of Dream Shot, who narrowly beat Wheels On Fire into second.
Dettori said: "He's a great little horse. Simon is thinking about the Breeders' Cup and he's tailor-made for that. I always thought he wanted faster ground, he's just been unfortunate."
A'Ali, who was sent off a 6-4 shot, has a number of top-level entries, but Crisford has opted to stick to 5f for the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Santa Anita.
The even-money favourite Alligator Alley never got into his stride and could only manage sixth behind Emten.
