Sheila Lewis has been enjoying a remarkable campaign with five of her eight horses in training winning at least once, but five-year-old novice hurdler Straw Fan Jack is her undoubted star and he provided his trainer with her most notable success at Aintree on Saturday.

The race fell apart slightly with odds-on favourite Dargiannini not living up to expectations in second, but Straw Fan Jack was nonetheless impressive in a race not run to suit as he streaked 30 lengths clear under Richard Johnson.
