A 1,000 Guineas bid remains 'very much on the table' for Pretty Pollyanna

The Qipco 1,000 Guineas remains the intended starting point for Pretty Pollyanna, although trainer Michael Bell has stressed no final call will be made about her participation until she comes through a couple of searching pieces of work.

Bell and owners Bill and Tim Gredley scrapped plans to run last season's Prix Morny heroine in last week's Nell Gywn Stakes after she worked under Frankie Dettori this month, instead choosing to give her longer to come to herself before deciding between the Guineas or a sprint campaign geared towards the Commonwealth Cup.

The Group 1-winning daughter of Oasis Dream is widely available at 20-1 for the 1,000 Guineas, a price which reflects uncertainty over whether she will ultimately go for it.

However Bell has given a positive update and is keeping the first fillies' Classic to the forefront of his mind.

"There's no definite decision, but the Guineas is still very much on the table," said Bell. "The filly looks well and we just need to get through another couple of tests. She's not a confirmed runner, but at this stage it's on the table and I'd say intended."

While her two Group-race victories came over six furlongs at Newmarket and Deauville last season, Pretty Pollyanna also finished third in the Fillies' Mile in the autumn.

Nell Gwyn winner Qabala is a best-priced 7-2 favourite for the Guineas, while Group 1 winners Skitter Scatter and Iridessa are 10-1 and 16-1.
