The 2023 fixture list was released on Wednesday but what are the key dates to note?

Cheltenham

The first day of the Cheltenham Festival will be on March 14, almost exactly one month before the Grand National festival at Aintree on April 13.

Doncaster

The Lincoln meeting is not until April 1, which will result in one of the latest ever starts for the Flat turf season.

The St Leger meeting moves from Wednesday to Saturday to Thursday through to Sunday, with the season's final Classic on September 16.

Aintree

The Grand National will fall on April 15 – the latest date in its history – and means there is just a ten-day gap between two of jump racing's biggest meetings as the Punchestown festival starts on April 25.

Epsom

The Derby will take place on June 3.

Plus . . .

There are only two jumps meetings on August 22, after the equivalent day this month had three jumps fixtures.

There will be just two days off over Christmas as opposed to the usual three-day break with four meetings scheduled on December 23.
