2022 Glorious Goodwood tips: Friday's best bets from our Racing Post experts
Day four of Glorious Goodwood is here - but who do our top tipsters fancy most?
Ouzo
By Robbie Wilders
Race: 3.00 Goodwood (Coral Golden Mile Handicap)
Forecast odds: 14-1
On the form of two of his last three runs, Ouzo is a massive player from stall seven in the Golden Mile. You can draw a line through his last of 29 in the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot two starts back as that clearly wasn’t his running and his recent length third at Sandown can be marked up. He was locked in close to the rail as the race unfolded and couldn’t get out until it was too late under Saffie Osborne. Conversely, everything went right for reopposing winner Sinjaari (stall 10) and I expect Ouzo, who runs off 1lb lower than his future rating, to exact his revenge.
Raasel
By Kevin Morley
Race: 3.35 Goodwood (King George Qatar Stakes)
Odds: 4-1
Best on the trends is Raasel, who has done nothing but improve and is a course-and-distance winner. The King's Stand often provides the winner and Acklam Express, who belied huge odds to finish third at Ascot, is feared most ahead of Czech raider Ponntos, who is better than he was able to show at the royal meeting.
Rebel's Romance
By Paul Kealy
Race: 4.10 Goodwood (L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes)
Forecast odds: 13-8
Having lost his form on dirt in Dubai in the winter, Rebel's Romance was given a break before his belated turf debut at Newmarket in June.
There shouldn't have been much doubt about his ability to handle it, though, as he's a son of Dubawi, and he fairly hacked up from stablemate Kemari. That makes him the one to beat, and there is probably more to come from a horse who has won five of his eight starts.
Friday previews:
1.50 Goodwood: Can stayer named after Jack Grealish provide Villa owner-breeder with big win?
2.25 Goodwood: Norwegian and German raiders lay siege to Britain's Thoroughbred stronghold
3.00 Goodwood: Can front-runner Noble Dynasty make all from a perfect draw in stall three?
3.35 Goodwood: Appleby confident 'the best I've trained' Raasel can emerge as new sprinting ace
6.00 Galway: Blazers banker? 'She's much better over fences than hurdles. I fancy her'
6.35 Galway: More Mullins domination? Baby Zeus out to improve on last year's fourth
