Wolverhampton Placepot picks: Richard Birch eyes guaranteed £100,000 pool

The guarantee of a £100,000 pool means it’s worth taking aim at the Wolverhampton Placepot.
My Boy Jack leaps off the page in division one of the 5f handicap (4.20). The three-year-old is nicely drawn in stall two, with form figures since September of 3223 in all-weather handicaps.
Politics, who makes his first appearance for Mick Appleby, merits inclusion too.
Level Upappeals in division two (4.50), with Okaidi, who has more to offer this winter, suggested as back-up.
As with the vast majority of low-grade, all-weather races, a mature market will prove the best guide to the 6f maiden (5.20).
In the absence of any clues, I’ll take the Karl Burke newcomer Jahidin and the twice-raced Burena.
Guitar, a good third at Lingfield last Tuesday, may prove the answer to division one of the mile handicap (5.50), while Shabsshould go close in division two (6.20).
Lord Paramount, a beaten 4-5 favourite last month, may have needed that first run since January, and stands out in the novice stakes (6.50).
