William H Bonney primed for huge run in Greatwood Hurdle
I’m hoping for a big run from William H Bonney in the Unibet Greatwood Handicap Hurdle (3.00) on Sunday.
This has long been his aim and the plan was always to go there fresh. He’s done plenty of work, he won at the track last season and I believe he has a big handicap in him, but I’d like to see the weights go up.
There’s a chance he could be joined by Elgin. I suggested last week that he was likely to be saved for what was the Ladbroke Hurdle as this would come a bit soon, but he’s in fine form and we’ll see how he is nearer the time.
He won well at Ascot and would have every chance if we decide he’s ready to turn out again.
We have two possibles for the juvenile hurdle at Fontwell on Sunday.
Fields Of Fortune was only going to be fourth when he unseated his rider at the last at Warwick on his hurdling debut, but we’d probably ride him handier next time. He’ll school this week.
Lisp has joined us from Charlie Hills and he’s a half-brother to Coeur De Lion. We’ve taken our time with him and he’s just about ready to start.
